I am currently working on a piece on the use of Scandi-Pop in Swedish film and the representation of Eighties aesthetics. 

My ongoing research focuses on The End of the Eighties. Emenating from this two pieces have emerged for Far Out magazines and Record Collector.

In 2020 I wrote one-off piece looking at Iggy Pop's overlooked classics and legacy as a song-writer for Far Out magazine.

In 2021 the second edition of my co-authored book Media and Cultural Theory was published by Bookboon.

The Glamour of Travel: The Damage of Middle England is a short film exploring the distorted memories of the 1980s through the eyes of a child.

In 2020 I wrote a feature of Far Out magazine on Italo Disco. This turned into a chapter for the forthcoming book Music, Culture and Migration.

During the lockdown of 2021 I revisted an article on the History of Music published in Media Magazine as the basis of online teaching.

Between Blondie is an archive project looking at Deborah Harry's solo career between 1982's The Hunter and 1999's No Exit. It is the prequel to a piece in Far Out on Blondie's 21st Century discography.

Between 2004 and 2016 I taught Media Theory at Bournemouth University including units on Popular Music and Identity and Consumer Culture.

Inspired by the use of music in the TV Series Deutschland 83 in 2021 I wrote a piece for Far Out on the sounds of 80s Cold War Pop.

Lost in the Seventies: Smash Hits and the Televisual Aesthetics of British Pop is a chapter in the book British Society and Popular Cultures in the 1970s: The Lost Decade edited by Laurel Foster and Sue Harper at The University of Portsmouth.

Ikeafication in the UK: The Bridge and the Rise of Nordic Noir is an article in the European Journal of Popular Culture looking at the political resonance of Scandinavian popular culture in 21st Britain.
